If it were a commercial, then they would be actors. The video is not presented as an acted commercial, but rather a compilation of the first reaction of people when they first experience the 3DS.

what part of this isn't presented like an acted commercial? The acting isn't even very good... And they are acting like idots ooo ing and aaa ing over the thing it's clearly acting...
