Some interesting news from Paradox Interactive. PC sales are very strong, boosting revenues of over 1000% since 2003 and the hardcore market is far from dying. Also, Digital Distribution makes up 70% of their sales. Gamestop CEO is also quoted, but he seems more pissy that he is losing sales and making up excuses for why publishers shouldn't switch to DD.

I'm sure DD is far off for those who have a capped bandwidth though. Interesting stats, but not suprising considering paradox releases alot of it's expansions exclusively to DD. I do like collecting their boxed games, however. Hearts of Iron 2 Anthology and Europa Universalis 3 have cool boxes/cases.

Good for them. I know half my Pardox games are on-line, so, I´ve done my part.

Digital distribution is fantastic, I no longer need to depend on local distributors wary of piracy. I can buy Paradox games and other niche games too, and also the mainstream games for the best price possible lol

Yeah, but I still got a problem with steam. it´s completelly user unfriendly. I much rather buy stuff in other sites, like gmersgate.

Admitedly, Paradox is at one extreme of the spectrum; the majority of their games are sold and marketed via DD. But saying:

makes no logical sense whatsoever.

Yeah it's good news..but I hope the game boxes doesn't go extinct in the future too..
