Forums - Gaming - Security for next gen consoles

So with the MS update, MW2 hacks, trophy hacks etc and Sony's lawsuit how do you think it will affect the security of next gen consoles? I think security is gonna tighter than clinched butt cheeks in prison lol, in other words...we won't be able to do shit, no connection to other devices (ex: cell phones) and maybe software that can be registered with a certain amount of systems. I'm more than likely wrong but it's just my op, what is your op?

All console should have Linux on them to begin with.

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

I look for all games having an unique id number. The console makers will then force you register the game to an online profile or lock it to the first console its played on. This won't be so much for security but to kill the used game and rental markets.

Client side can never ever be 100% secured.

All they really need to do is make their server side unhackable and easily patchable should a hole be found. If server side get hacked and they can't fix it, it's really their problem for faulty design. I.E. Someone hacked into a back due to a loophole. IT IS the bank's responsibility to lock down that hole as fast as they could and not go focusing on suing the hacker. You do that shit after you plug up the hole.
