Via Reddit, the fan-made sequel to hit SNES RPG Chrono Trigger has hit the internet.  
Entitled Crimson Echoes, the game uses the original game’s 2D visuals, character sprites, and engine. Poster buu700 makes sure to distance himself from the project, saying it ain’t his baby; he says he was sent the link and is simply passing it along.

What exactly Square Enix will do about this, if anything, remains to be seen. The company had previously sent legal papers to the game’s creator, which essentially said his throat would be cut with a rusty dagger if he released the game.

Downloading it as we speak. Maybe Square Enix will finally smarten the hell up and release another game in the series (One with the characters from the original version) so people don't have to make fan made versions . You would think they would get the hint by now.

I have been waiting for them to get the hint that people wanted a Vagrant Story sequel for ~10 years now seeing as how they left the ending wide open for a sequel...

But it looks better than Chrono Cross just because it actually features Chrono
