Doesn't matter if Nintendo listens to him. Mutual funds, Goldman Sachs, and other big names on Wall Street listen to Pachter because he may be wrong on his game to game predictions, but he has kept his job because he is damn good at forecasting which videogame companies will have up or down years.

Really? I believe he was wrong on that before the gen started as well, few times he was right on that matter simply because he was stating the obvious.

The whole point of analyst to make his predictions is to manipulate public and, more importantly, investors' opinion, it's not his job to inform anyone. That's why there're lawsuits over lawsuits against credit rating agencies, as if no one wasn't aware before that ratings were shamelessly overrated. Insiders just were ok with the fact that analysts were spewing BS for the sake of them.

I can't disagree :)

Of course both of us know insiders like Pachter spew their stuff so that gamers get ignorantly fixated on his purposefully wrong prediction allowing him time more time to focus on videogame company SEC filings, not having a schedule packed around pointless interviews with gaming media because his predictions are dead right 100% of the time. This may come across as BS as it may certainly may be, intended or not, but throwing the BS out there keeps the mass audience's eye off of what is really important.

Either that or both of us have really demented, imaginative minds.

Well what was the Wii market share in 2010, what was the Wii market share in 2008? Since these two are the key dates in his little opinion piece. Whilst he may not be right he does usually raise a valid point or two along the way.

Tease.

I posted this comic when I first came to this site. I'm seriously thinking about remaking it and adding an extra panel.

Pachter is just mad at Nintendo b/c he can't analyze their next move. Pachter hates being wrong and gets mad and says shit like this, but, who knows he could be right which I doubt.

So basically they're fucked no matter what they do because they didn't listen to him?

Neat.

So long as he has Wall Street waiting to hear, he will continue spouting. Regardless of whether we as individual forum goes like him or hate him, Pachter has the ears of who really matters. Those who really matter are the hedge funds, mutual funds, big time investors (Carl Icahn and his ilk), and investment banks.

Pachter can't stop Nintendo from selling consoles, but he can make Wall Street think twice when the decision comes down to recommend purchasing Nintnedo stock. This is all that matters.

I doubt Japanese investors listen to Pachter since Nintendo stock is only traded in Japan.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Jesus.... does he even know how the console market works? Once a "Wii 2" releases their competitors will follow with whatever they have been planning anyways. Its just the nature of the beast. It doesnt' even have to be a new Nintendo product first, MS or Sony could release first or at least offically discuss a next gen product. Once that happens the next gen is officially beginning in less than 12 months.

I said it once, I said it a million times... next gen will start in 2012. Personally, I think we'll see MS and Nintendo make a splash towards the end of this year or E3 2012 at the latest. Then Sony will follow as to not be left behind.

Good comic, I remember that. However, you misspelled "doomed"... it should be "domed". Not sure how we missed that last time it was posted.

Japan can barely afford to sell it's own debt to it's ever aging populace. Correct me if I am wrong, but a fifth to a quarter of Japan's population is retired, the population is declining to a negative birth rate, and the population is getting older as Japan is the 1st or 2nd in life expectancy among nations in the world.

Sure Japan has investors, just how many of them is the question.

M$ has said that they wont abandon 360 before Sony abandons PS3 and while a new generation does not mean that the last gen is over, i do think that Sony will probably be before this time. Nintendo i cant really tell though.

honestly patcher is an idiot everyone knows that but this time he might be right

if wii2 has no strategy or new idea like they had for the wii it could be more like gamecube2 than the wii2

but then again there's always mario!!!
