As an Australian, if you want more reasonably priced games, you have to import them.

see the thing is that australia can get away with it.

There is purely no reason for this because Japan is one of our biggest trading partners. And China as well obviously. The exchange rate isnt the problem, I honestly think it is partly because 70 US cents to the Australian dollar was the conversion for a long time. Companies plain and simple havent got used to the difference yet.

I assume that when the exchange rate is close to what it is the main companies start fixing the pricing.

Look at Samsung tv's for example that in the past 6 months have dropped by a minimum of $200 each. Sony the same, retailers own brands. Online is much closer to US prices, Retailers are now starting to act which is great.

Gaming is still one they can sort of get away with though because of the voltages and simply game locking. If you buy an Xbox360 and a game to an extent you will not be able to use it. Till this stops the problem won't.

End point, don't buy things off steam unless it is the sales if you have problem with the pricing
