Best Buy Co. Inc. this week began offering a free copy of Gran Turismo 5 or LittleBigPlanet 2 with the purchase of Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 160GB SKU in a new promotion.

 Through Jan. 22, customers who purchase the PS3 160GB will receive a copy of Gran Turismo 5 or LittleBigPlanet 2 at no additional cost.

Meanwhile, Amazon.com Inc. this week week is offering a $50 Amazon.com Credit with the purchase of the PS3 160GB SKU.

Gran Turismo 5 includes more than 950 vehicles and an online multiplayer mode for up to 16 players.

LittleBigPlanet 2 includes a brand new collection of tools to create, play, and share.

Nice, will these game sales be reflected in VGC numbers?

The Amazon deal has been going on for a couple of weeks now; and I thought Best Buy had a $50 gift card with 160GB purchase last week as well.

I would guess that these stores are slightly oversupplied and trying to get rid of extra stock.  Regardless, thier loss is my gain as I was looking to replace my 60GB PS3 (the 60GB originals are the only model that really seem to give people problems, right?).

No it hasn't. They restarted it a couple of days ago to compete with best buy.

for any canadians in the thread, futureshop will be offering the ps3,gt5 bundle w/ mgs4 and batman:AA added on as well (starting friday) for the same price. The ps3 gt5 sale has been going on for a lil while... here in canada anyway.
