Oh good.
THis means I'll probably get to keep my VC games on the Wii's successor, too...
Some interesting things I found...
The Nintendo eShop, through a system update, will offer access to downloadable games, including Nintendo DSiWare™ and ones specifically made for Nintendo 3DS. Also, just as the Virtual Console service on Wii makes retro games available for download, the Virtual Console games on Nintendo 3DS will be pulled from classic Game Boy™ and Game Boy Color games. Players will be able to view game videos, download demos for select games and see how other consumers rated the games.
The Mii Maker™ application gives users new tools to create Mii™ characters even more easily: Users can either import Mii characters from their Wii systems using an SD memory card or use the camera to take a picture of a person and have an automatic Mii character created. Users can even save their Mii characters to an SD card as pictures, which enables them to be used any way a digital photo would for personal use, such as a profile picture on social-networking sites.
With Nintendo 3DS Sound, users can enjoy sound-manipulation tools or rock out while listening to their MP3 or AAC music files. An upgraded Internet browser will also be available via a system update
MP3s finally...

Haha thats so true :P i need a green card first... what do those cost in the black market?
Why do UK gamers always get ripped off? I don't care about the price of the system - £220ish is fine, but £40 /game? I tend to buy my DS games new, and I don't know if I'll be able to afford many 3DS games.

Good to see that confirmed. My guess is it'll be something added to the DSi shop channel that allows you to backup your download data, then gives you a unique PIN that you enter on this new eShop, that will then line everything up for you
Either that or they'll "force" you to get a Club Nintendo and just restore the option to tie your shop info to your Club Nintendo account, and if you register your new 3DS on your Club Nintendo account, bingo.
On that note, i wonder if they'll let us register 3DS for Club Nintendo points? They damn well better.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

The rise was 2.5% - that's no excuse for £40 games

Oh, I'm sorry. I should have said VAT and a extremely weak Sterling. Take VAT out of the game's price, and the relationship with the price in Yens is not that bad. 6090 yen would be, at today's exchange rate, ~£55 (VAT included)
