It's $250 U.S. currency.

Well if it is $249 in US that makes it £157. So probably around £149.99 to £199 i'd say. If it is the latter then i will just wait until it drops in price and the games i am more interested in have been released.
The thing seems really cool but for the potential £200 price i don't think that is worth it yet.

HMV just priced it at £229.99 for what it's worth. Why couldn't Nintendo just give the MSRP so we don't have to speculate like this. :/

Sweet. $250 and March 27th with 30 games coming out close to launch plus VC. I'm sold. My kids will get 3DS's this year.
Sales tax and VAT have to be considered if we want to speculate with 3DS price. Don't forget the sales tax is applied over the MRSP, VAT is included in the MRSP.
Play.com has it priced at £220... Hmmm dammit. I thought it would be cheaper with the American price announced. I was expecting it to be £200 at the most.

£219 on Play.com, which is a bit more like it...
Guessing at £229.99 RRP, seeing as HMV don't usually go much under RRP with their prices.

VGChartz
£229 is an insane price. The DS launched at £129. The Wii launched at £179 with a game and a controller.
194 pounds according to here - http://www.gamegears.co.uk/ds-dsi-c7/ds-dsi-consoles-c47/nintendo-nintendo-3ds-console-blue-p2563?of_uid=063db76c-35f2-4a08-8733-376ab0630f6e
Ill be happy if it will cost only $350 AU, which is wut i preordered it for.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

If it is £229 then i think it could struggle. That is double the price of the DSi. £70 more expensive then a Wii. £5 more expensive then the new 360 with a Kinect bundled in. Or £80 more then the new 360 on it's own. And the same price as a 160gb PS3. Of course you will get your initial adopters who will pay pretty much anything but in the longterm i can't see casual gamers paying that much. You are almost at the price of a decent Tablet and they seem to be growing in popularity. It would not surprise me to see 3DS start off really badly.
