Lucky, I don't know how many my EBGames is getting. If your store is only getting ten of each colour then my store should not be getting 30-50. But then again they said that ages ago when they started taking pre-orders in November. Oh well I'm glad I am number one on the pre-order list so I'm going to get mine day one regardless!

About Nintendo unlikely to produce 4M a month: obvious (it would be a whopping 48M/yr), but it's as much obvious that they stockpiled for the launch more than the average production for that period's lenght, just as any producer stockpiles for Xmas during the slowest selling parts of the previous seasons.

So, if Ninty wants, it can stockpile >8M for launch, if it starts in time, the only problem could be that, just in case it wished to break a record, it maybe didn't predict the size of Kinect launch success, so it could have not stockpiled enough and now it would be too late.

All the stores I've been to have signs up saying that pre-orders start on the 20th. Bic Camera, Sofmap, etc.

Luckily there's a Geo near me that is open 24hrs, so I'm going to head there later tonight (after midnight ;-p ) to try and get my pre-order in. Hehehe.

Yeah! A small shop (Book Station) near my place started taking pre-orders today.

So you are in Tokyo I guess? I'm in Hiroshima prefecture. Sometimes it's good to live in the "inaka". :)

Yes, I got my pre-order in!

The store closest to me started taking pre-orders at 7am this morning. The store is getting 14 total machines (7 blue/7 black) and when I got there at ~6:45am, I was the 7th person in line.(limit of one 3DS per person) In total 10 people showed up by 7am.

I pre-ordered the Blue 3DS along with Prof. Layton.
