I am willing to bet, that in terms of shipped numbers Sony will reclaim the number one console maker for 2010. Nintendo Wins the handheld sector by a major margin though. It will be interesting to see what happens at Q4 reports.

That's not really possible.

Why not?

These numbers say that sell though to consumers was 18.74M for Nintendo and 18.68M for Sony. Sony could have easily shipped more units than Nintendo with sell though being this close.

I expect this as calender year 2010 shipments.

Sony

PS3 15M
PS2   6.5M
Total 21.5M

Nintendo

Wii 20.5M

With this Sony can announce that they are the number one console maker. Handhelds are a different market.

PS2 shipments for Q1 and Q2 were around 3-3.1M IIRC, no way they shipped less than that in Q3 (christmas) and Q4 (current). I expect to see PS2 shipment for whole fiscal year at 7 Milions

Well, now that's a refreshing adjustment.

Such big adjustment for 360, fortunately it retains its 2 million seller weeks though. Unlike last year for PS3 when VGC stole the precious off PS3 for most of the year.

A shame PS3 fell just short of 15 million for the year, but 14.4 is a great year for PS3. The other impressive thing (sort of) for PS3 internally is that PS3>PSP PS2. First time ever?

And PS2 over 4 million. Go the 3rd world!! It's gonna be selling for 20 years at this rate.

Hey, but the PS3 still has some of the best games now and coming out.
