Not exactly big news (unless you live in Japan maybe) but I am surprised to see Nintendo continue with the budget line at all. I thought they gave up on that.

Also from the COMG thread...

"Nintendo should reissue Xenoblade, it could possibly leg it past 200k if there are more RPG oriented gamers playing their Wiis suddenly and looking for something after TLS.  Namco should repress Graces also, maybe as part of that Minna no Susume Selection budget line."

lol looks like somebody listened to at least part of jarrod's request.

It's good that they continue with the budget line, but how about rereleasing their own games!?

NoE should do something similar:

It's still probably too early to do MH3, the highest rated 3rd party game on the Nintendo channel, but games like Muramasa, Okami, Little King's Story and the like would make good choices.

I think I have seen a couple of the budget titles in aus, there was a horror one, and another cant remember, great idea to do. Actually Wii should do platinum games as well, I think its time Mario Kart for eg went to plat (not that it needs to haha)

I think Nintendo is obliged to do this because of the lack of games there. The line up is seriously piss poor, these are just fillers to avoid completely empty months.

Why did you think they gave up? They already had 2 budget games scheduled for February as well (Samurai Warriors 3 and Momotaru Densetsu 2010)

Proud poster of the 10000th reply at the Official Smash Bros Update Thread.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Actually I think it did reasonably well for the nearly 0 effort it entails, and they never said otherwise, so I am not surprised they are continuing. As to Xenoblade, beyond being too early I think it is not considered  3rd party (?), and this series is for 3rd parties only as far as I recall.

Because the last time I recall reading anything about it was early 2010.

Seems like it has been carrying on. Jolly good.

In fairness, PS3 and 360 get like ten times the games released in their budget lineups.  I don't think Nintendo's filling space so much as just giving some core titles another chance to sell, I mean there were plenty of empty weeks before this last year didn't get budget games.
