Forums - Microsoft - Crackdown 2 dev working on new games

Eurogamer

Crackdown 2 developer Ruffian Games is working on new games and it's really excited about them.

The Scottish studio describes them as "high action, visceral titles" that are "heavily focused on online".

In a blog post titled Hunting for Programmers, studio head Gaz Liddon acknowledged the lack of detail provided.

"Since completing Ruffian's first born, Crackdown 2, we've now moved onto a couple of new games," he said.

"Rather boringly as is the case for most nascent projects we're unable to talk about them in any detail right now."

not too excited, really did not enjoy crackdown 2 but hopefully they can improve with their next game.

New IPs are always welcome!

I believe they only had 8 months to make Crackdown 2. Normal games often take 2-3 years.

Give them time. Maybe they'll make something better.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Crackdown 2 was abysmal improvement upon the original. Sad face, because they really did have the following after the first game even though majority of people brought it for Halo 3 beta, they've played Crackdown as a bonus and found it awesome, Crackdown 2 was a major disappointment for me. Both content and sales wise.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

did ruffian pick up staff from the closure of real time worlds?

Well lets hope they are working on new IPs.

I'd hate to see them make more shitty sequels.
