"1 or 2 games" is releasing in January itslef, at least according to Sony they are.

Almost everything else has slated for release in 2011 in E3 or some other event.

The ones coming January 2011 have release dates. If the release dates move then they are delayed. Also if you look back on some of those announcements or research them you'll find that some of them were just announced . Like Twisted Metal. It was only announced at E3 and David Jaffe said recently he hopes to release it in Fall 2011. Thats not a release date just that he hopes it releases then.

Also Socom 4 got delayed but Zipper never said it will be here in 2011. They just announced it was delayed and we assumed. The Last Guardian never had a coming 2011 or a release date. Same with FF14. When the delay was announced they never mentioned a 2011 release date. They just gave there reasons why it delayed.

And "hopes" of developers are counted. The reason why developers don't give a solid date is because its difficult to say when, so they give a vague idea like fall 2011 and such.

Yous need to get one thing straight first. A game is only delayed when it has an announced release date. Coming 2011 is not a release date but a guideline to when you should expect a title. 6 or 7 of those titles mentioned don't have a release date yet so unless they are given a street date and then that street date is moved. Only then is it a delay

They said its coming 2011, but if it releases in 2012 then it is a delay. This thread is more like a prediction or guesswork.

No only 1 or 2 titles announced were said to be coming 2011. The rest were only announced with no information on a release date. People just assume they are coming 2011 because they were announced last year.

The Last Guardian TGS 2010 trailer has 'coming holiday 2011' at the end of it, so that does at least have a release date of 2011.

  • Yakuza 4
  • ICO collection
  • Sorcery
  • PS Move Heroes
  • Infamous 2

But a lot of them havn't gave a vague fall 2011 date. Jaffe said he hopes it releases in fall 2011 when answering questions for the fans at christmas. If hope counts then 90% of games get delayed. Also even if hope does count thats still only 1 game out of about 6 on that list that don't have a vague 2011 release date.

Heres what they said about FF14......

It is not our wish to release a simple conversion of the Windows version in its current state, but rather an update that includes all the improvements we have planned," said Wada, "For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of the PlayStation 3 version beyond the originally announced date of March 2011."

So if FF14 doesn't make 2011 now your going to say it got delayed again even though they clearly never mentioned anything about its future release date other than its past the March 2011 date???? That could be April 2011 or it could be April 2012.

Thats why you need to get the meaning of delayed straight first before doing polls and lists like that. Its misconception and because of that misconception when some of those titles like the Last Guardian don't make 2011 we will have threads and people saying that it got delayed when in fact it never had a release date or VAGUE release date to start with. Only assumptions.

That has a Japanese release date. Considering Japan get some games over a year before the rest of the world I wouldn't hold your breathe for a 2011 release date in EU or NA

We can only assume. Most of the games are never true delays like you say, but they are still vague delays.

Its not like this list is going to harm anyone.

Nah it won't harm anyone but how many times has this site had Xbots  call the PS3 the delaystation 3 and talk nonsense when it comes to matters like this. Just look at GT5 threads from months ago. Before it was delayed in November that game only had a Japanese release date that got delayed yet in every thread there was some haters using delays as there main arguement to why GT5 suched.

Games I believe that will be delayed into 2012:

Twisted Metal

Socom 4

TLG

Agent

WKC2

Ratchet and Clank All4 One

And sadly, Infamous 2.

Still has an excellent line up though. UC3, Killzone 3, LBP 2,  Resistance 3 and Motorstorm 3 in one year is epic.

I said 1-3 but other than FFXIV and maybe The Last Guardian, I can't think of anything that would be delayed until next year.

After thinking about it, I believe the number will turn into 3-5 as more titles are announced (or in The Agent's case, revealed....2 years after announcement.....sigh....) But i wouldn't say they are going to be delays unless they say "Fall 2011" and it turns into "Winter 2012" or something like that...

You think they would delay FFXIV? That game is already on the pc, so surely it won't take that long to port it.

This thread is total flamebait but unlike 2010 if Sony has a few delays there will still be more exclusives and stuff to play than any other system. Plus to offset an overstuffed calendar Sony would be smart to delay a couple games. Also you forgot to add Tomb Raider and Splinter Cell Trilogy's and MLB The Show 2011.

Dont forget people Nintendo Microsoft and tons of third party games will be delayed as well.
