Million seller? No way. 300-400k sales LT is a good estimate. It managed to create a cult status in a short ammount of time, and I will buy it one day. But the trailers alone creep me out

wtf?! You think we're talking about a console game here?! Amnesia will keep selling for years, so it's very possible it will reach 1 million.

The game is now at above 200k/day. That means that in a short ammount of time it will probably do 500/week, now that the GOTY hype has died down. And even if it will reach half million, how much profit do you think it will make. It will probably sell most ammount in a steam bundle, where they will make under 50 cents/game sold. Its not about the ammount they sell, its about the revenue they make.
And what do you have against console games, and their sales? Mario Kart Wii will probably have better legs then 99% of any PC game, and it will sell far above any PC game could even dream about Do you want to see real legs for games? Check out GTA: LCS for the dead PSP. That system has games that started out at 2-5k/week and became million sellers

Amnesia just came out, and it will keep selling for the next 5 years, if not more. The game will also go through several promotions on DD stores, most notably on Steam.
And Mario Kart Wii's legs are below the average good PC game so far, you know why? It's because it's a console game, and sooner or later itwill stop selling due to console iteration. Console games don't outlast their consoles, not counting things like porting old games into next generation consoles.
The average great PC game probably has an average life expectancy of 10 years or somethinglike that. Look at Bizzard games. Starcraft 1 is still selling, despite being almost 13 years old. Lucas Arts games? Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade came out in 1989 and is still selling, a 22 years old game, came out on Steam not long ago.
Also, you want to shove Mario Kart Wii down my throat? You wish that any Mario game would've sold as much as World of Warcraft. Hell, I'll bet that World of Warcraft will make more profit than the entire Mario franchise.

Mario and warcraft at the moment are the biggest IPs in gaming at the moment. Neither is a fare comparison I agree for either console or PC gaming. But seriously, how much revenue do you think a re-released 1989 game can make? DO you obviously think that any 3year old PC game can make any real profit? You are daydreaming my friend. Steam and GFWL often sells games for under 1$. Even if they sell a million copies, thats not even enough to cover the audio budget of most AAA games these days

I bought Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade on Steam, and so did many other people :
Dude, in this day and age, it's much more likely for a PC game to make a profit than a Console game. Developers get as much as 6 times more profit from PC games than Console games, per copy. Because of Digital Distribution, it's the norm for a PC game to have a 60-70% of pure profit for developers/publishers, instead of the measly 10% for developers from retail console games.
If a game is sold for $1, then it means that it has already sold for $2, $5, $10, $20, etc... those games have already sold a lot, but they still keep selling and publishers/developers keep earning money. That doesn't happen with console games.
