Rumor has it that this game will be called Silent Hill: Downpour, as the title will mainly take place during rainy conditions.

Anyone else see something coincidental in that?

I really doubt they'll go with this title. it sounds... stupid.

Wonder how it'll play. Shatter Memories on the Wii played amazingly.

the only way id be excited about this is if it was developed by the original japenese team which made the first 4 games, after that the western teams just slaughtered the franchise

End of 2012 prediction:

xbox 360 : 73-75 million  playstation 3 : 72-74 million  wii : 104-105 million

Most hyped for :

Bioshock: infinte, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Agent

Hmm...I can't say I will get my hopes up too much...I loved the first four, but ever since Team Silent handed the keys over...things just haven't been the same.

@d21: He speaks the truth. Siren: Blood Curse is one freaky game. Granted, I still think Silent Hill 1 has the creepiest atmosphere, but in terms of the feeling of claustrophobia...just, holy shit.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Please don't let it be a Western developer (US in particular) as they just don't get it.  Western tastes run to conclusions, thrills and combat coupled with minimal freaky shit... Silent Hill needs ambiguity, chills and minimal combat coupled with seriously freaky shit

This is a job for Japanese developers for sure.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Western developers can do pretty okay.

It's good and all (I've got it) but it doesn't quite the freaky highs of non-Western messed up horror.  But it's good, if reliant on more obvious scares and a heavy dose of classic European horror with a touch of HP Lovecraft (yes, I know he's American!).

While Alan Wake made me crave traditional survivior horror again (love that feeling of tension) the reality is that I'm about 30% done with Origins, 40% done with homecoming, and about 5% done with Shattered Memories.  I like the series but I haven't finished a Silent Hill game in ages.  I'll see what the critics say when this one comes out.

Check out Siren: Blood Curse on PSN and i'll assure you it'll satisfy your crave. ;)

First chapter is free, right?  I may take your advice.....

It is the scariest title I've played, period. Nothing gave me the same sense of claustrophobia and worry that Blood Curse did.

Only thing that was worrisome for me in Blood Curse were the controls xD

I think I didn't even finish the demo
