The first Flying Get of 2011 is going to be a mini one because your Andriasang.com flying get correspondent (me!) is in transit.

As you know, Flying Get assembles all the early magazine leaks that surface on message boards and Japanese blogs. The information usually hasn't been verified, so there may be some false reports in the bunch. Also, because we're usually summarizing summaries of summaries (possibly of summaries!), there may be something lost along the way. For more accurate reports, you may want to check the main channel later in the day or week.

Check back throughout the day for updates! (Actually, for this week's "mini" issue we're going to stop at around 10:30ish, so stop checking then!)

New Suparobo for PSP

Famitsu has a first look this week at the latest Super Robot Taisen game, Dai-ni-ji Super Robot Taisen Z, or "2nd Super Robot Wars Z."

This PSP title is a sequel to a 2008 PlayStation 2 title called Super Robot Taisen Z. Currently, all that's leaked out is that the game will have a huge list of franchises. Newcomers alone include:

  • Gundam OO
  • CODE GEASS Lelouch of the Rebellion
  • Armored Trooper VOTOMS
  • Armored Trooper VOTOMS: The Red Shoulder Document Roots of Ambition
  • Armored Trooper VOTOMS: Pailsen Files
  • Dai-Guard
  • Macross Frontier Itsuwari no Utahime
  • Psalms of Planets Eureka Seven: Pocket Full of Rainbows
  • Gurren Lagann
  • Gurren Lagann The Movie: Childhood's End
  • Shin Mazinger Shogeki! Z Hen

Famitsu has its usual interview with producer Takanobu Terada, so expect gameplay details to follow.

Namco Bandai appears to be entering 20th anniversary mode for the Super Robot Wars series. Famitsu also has details on Game Archive releases of classic PlayStation Super Robot Wars games. Three titles are due for release on January 26.

This Week's Famitsu

Famitsu has some big new reveals this week, most notably Dai-ni-ji Super Robot Taisen Z for PSP.

The magazine also has reports this week on lots of 3DS games, including Devil Survivor Overclock, Dead or Alive Dimensions, Pro Baseball Spirits 2011, Pro Baseball Famisuta 2011, and Ridge Racer 3D.

Non 3DS coverage includes:

  • The Last Story
  • Rune Factory Oceans
  • White Knight Chronicles PSP
  • Vakyria Chronicles 3
  • Yakuza of the End
  • Pro Baseball Spirits 2011 (PSP and PS3)

I want details!

I loved Devil Survivor on the DS so I can't wait for details!

Former something....

still haven't picked up the first one on the DS.  Good news nonetheless

Is that Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor or another different standalone title?

Around the Network

Hell yes!

SCANS:

hmm is it a port/remake of the DS game or a sequel?

Hell yeah!!! Loved the first one, and I love Atlus in general. First day.

ok looks like it's a remake

At last year’s E3, Nintendo released a huge list of titles in development for the 3DS. Included in Atlus’ section was a trio of Shin Megami Tensei titles. This week’s issue of Famitsu has the scoop on one of those projects: Devil Survivor Overclock. You can check out the first details below, and expect scans to arrive shortly.

- Remake of Devil Survivor for 3DS
- Not a new game/sequel
- Full voice acting
- Higher resolution graphics
- Over 150 demons
- 8th day added to the scenario
- 90% complete

I skipped DS the first time around so this is cool.  I hope the 3DS EO and SMT proper games aren't just DS port ups though (though I'd take a Nocturne port).
