Your decisions from ME1 carry over to ME2. Part of the fun of ME2 is seeing those differences reflected in your quest. ME2 can be enjoyed without playing ME1 but players of ME1 get a lot more out of ME2.

That's a good feature but what I want to know is the ME2 was a complete game or a story related with ME1. For what I see until now ME2 was a single game to be enjoyed even without played ME1 because there are no story relation between them.

The ME story is one story broken into three parts...

In any event I dont see how reading a comic compares to playing a game.

Would reading a comic rendition of MGS3 before playing MGS4 be as good as playing MGS3....? of course not.

the downloadable MGS database helped a lot of folks i suppose
although it wasn't a comic, and it wasn't interactive like the ME:2 one's supposed to be

but yeah, nowhere close to playing the earlier games first

I hate to be a downer, but I highly doubt that the PS3 version is better than the PC version.

Good to hear it's not just a quick and lazy port like certain games, though.

I got the PC vertion and i doubt the ps3 one is better :P Expeshaly the controle they where very well tuned for the PC

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

What I said was the two games had differenct storys... so you don't need to play the first to play the second... about MGS4 I don't know but I don't need to play MGS1 or MGS2 to play MGS3.

and was it as good as playing the previous games for yourself?  no...

so whilst it is a welcome aid it simply cannot replace the actual gaming experience.

sorry i ninja edited my earlier post with pretty much what you're saying here

My main question was...

If I play ME2 without ME1 I can be confused or not understood the story???

If yes I won't buy the game.

Can't wait till it comes from gamefly.

The Ninja Gaiden is different because the second one is a story sequence... so I need to play the first one.

ME1 and ME2 is more like Final Fantasy games... no related... except you can use some itens and decisions from the first one... anyway the itens and decisions of the first one don't change the story or the game ME2.

That's what I read here.

No story relations?

The ENTIRE game follows on DIRECTLY from Mass Effect 1.

They are NOTHING like Final Fantasy games.  The whole series was designed to be a linked-in TRILOGY!!!

Anyone that told you the stories are seperate is severely misinformed or LYING!

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Mass Effect is such a mess of game, that it's not even worth dragging myself through all it's technical issues and poor designs  just so I can 'truly' understand it's story. I've got it on my 360 and the game just drags, not because the world and plot isn't interesting, but because the game semi freezes just when I'm turning around and the gameplay is just so wonky.

I might buy Mass Effect 2 on the PS3, only because I'd rather play the critically acclaimed sequel, without going through the broken original, while also getting the chance to understand the plot and make the choices from the first game.

It's hard to pass up such a highly praised game and I'm willing to put my money down if it means that I won't have to go through Mass Effect 1.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

so you got a way through ME1, gave up but never bought ME2 for the 360?  but now will buy it for the PS3? odd.

I almost bought Mass Effect for a 360 last year... but eventually gave up... if I had bought still buy the PS3 version of ME2 because that is my main console.

This time I'm trying to ignore ME1 or just play it on PC.
