Sounds like Sony fucked up, they should've amped up supply.  Even more irionic that DS just barely sold more ytd according to Famitsu and Dengeki, and might even squeeze ahead in Media Create... sounds like PSP could've taken 2010 easily had Sony been at all competent.

You know sony isn't really interested in these competitions that run here between you guys.. shortages happen. Selling one psp on 1/1 is as important as selling one in 31/12.

yet i fail to see why the op is laughing...the ds sold more than the psp in japan and 3x it worldwide this week... i don't get what there is to gloat about (happy sure, but gloating?)

Some retailers are saying supplies won't be adequately replenished for a month.  And sales 1/1 would still count towards 2010's calendar year for the trackers.

Also, I think you're underselling the PR victory here.  PSP needs those wherever it can get them to be honest.

Yeah, I noticed that when I went to check out a big electronics/game store today. The PSP 3000's (all colors) we're sold out! Sony definitely underestimated the PSP 3000 demand in Japan in the wake of MHP3.

MHP3 isn't playable on the Go(it's not a downloadable title), so I doubt people would buy the Go for MHP3.
