The best thing that can happen is for capcom to realease a MH3rd port or something on the 3DS, and see what happens.

The 3DS has the advantage vs the psp2. So far we can say that the 3DS is already winning the battle (not saying is over though).

With the hype that the 3DS is bulding, the awesome line up that awaits, and clearly all the fame it has thanks to the original DS, it would make a lot of sense to start bringing the big weapons to it. Monster Hunter already switched from Ps3 to Wii, and it was a great decision....

It would be awesome to see a MH game on the 3DS ;D

It did?

Anyway I think Tri would have sold more on the PS3.

Yes it did.... i thought it was common knowledge by now...

I hope it's psp2/psp title...or even better PSP2/PS3 title

So launch it on a smaller userbase and much more expensive handheld?

Capcom doesn't make sense sometimes. Although it makes more sense than Megaman Legends 3 going to the 3DS to likely die.

Ehh, I'm not sure I follow your logic here. By this argument, instead of third parties making 3DS games, they should all be making PSP titles?

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

This is the only answer :D, they could easily port Wii MH Tri  or MH Freedom 3, the latter one has sold a TON on the PSP, and by the time the 3DS will be out, it will have peak in the PSP. They port it with added bonuses or something and then in a a year or two Monster Hunter Freedom 4 will be a multiplatform title for the PSP2 and 3DS.

The 3DS will be the KING in America an Europe, and I suspect the PSP2 will be the king in Japan. Capcom has stated already that they want to push this franchise all the way in America, and the 3DS is a natural fit

Just like they did with MHTri on the Wii.

God let this be true!

The only reason I couldn't put as many hours as I would have liked into Monster Hunter Tri is the fact that it's on a console. I put a lot more time into handheld gaming.

MH3D on the 3DS, that sounds about right, then release MH4 on the proper console.

More Monster hunter means more awesome, Can't say I blame capcom for combining the most popular franchise with what is likely to be the most popular hardware

most popular hardware?

that seems to be an over the top comment

kinect is the most popular recent gaming HW right now

3DS seems to popular but nowhere near the most popular

OT:

i think they will port MH3RD PORTABLE  to 3ds and see what the sales are like,if they are good then they will continue on 3DS

if not then PSP2 will get the next game exclusive

definitions to help you understand

likely- has a good chance of being

to be- copular of the english language

context should have been understood as Japan as was implied with Monster Hunter's popularity

so the statement directs you to the understanding that the 3ds has a good chance of being the most popular hardware in Japan

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Considering how large the franchise has become, I wouldn't be surprised of maybe a multi-platform release for the handheld versions.  So possibly a 3DS/PSP 2 release in the next couple of years.  Considering he mentions 3DS, I think we can at least guess they are thinking about it.  However, I don't think anyone every doubted that one of the now biggest franchises in Japan would eventually move over to a Nintendo handheld.  Seemed inevitable.

Personally, what I would expect is just to see some ports of older MH games on PSP to the 3DS to start off.  Make some cash obviously for Capcom to prepare for the next big handheld MH game.  And as I said earlier, seems like the best decision for the next one would be to go multi-plat.  Of course, this could all change depending on if someone gets their hands on some exclusivity.  Already see Nintendo work to get not only MH Tri on Wii, but work for a huge marketing push in the west which was relatively successful.  Think what we can assume from that at least, is that any MH home console games in the future will be on a NIntendo system.  Maybe Sony or Nintendo will try something similar with the handheld ones but I think it'll end up multi-plat.  Wishful thinking in the end haha but it would best for everyone.
