I don't think it'll have an extremely large FW. That usually only happens to games that already have a strong fanbase.

Take Uncharted 2 for example. It had FW sales of about 800k and will end over 5 million. And then look at RDR, that game had FW sales of about 900k and will end at around 5 million I think. 

Those games didn't have strong FW sales because people weren't expecting the game. Those games had some great 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. weeks due to Word of Mouth and great reception. I expect KZ3 to follow the same route. I don't think it'll have "great" FW sales, but it will have some good sales the weeks after.

Basically what I'm saying is I don't think KZ3 will have a massive opening FW.

I think KZ3 can reach 5m too!


I think it will. Killzone 2 had a 750,000 FW. I expect KZ3 to accomplish that in NA alone. The reasons ?

a ) KZ3 will see a UC2 type of improvement over KZ2.

b ) Sony advertised this game during the VGA's ...  far from it's release. They will have the same marketing campaign for KZ3.

c ) The PS3 userbase seem to care more about FPS games then they did before.

But atleast I'm not alone on this !!!



Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

That wan't a very attractive commercial IMO. A KB commercial (or any commercial ) would be much more effective.

A real good reason why Killzone 3 would sell a million more than Killzone 2? Well because it appealed more or appealed more to more people.

A good reason why it wouldn't sell as much? People don't want to rush into another FPS so soon after Call of Duty, it doesn't appeal as much to as many people as the first title, people were put off by the first title.

I dunno what you mean man, all i was saying is that theres more PS3s here than in the US or Japan, and for some bizzare reason Sony decide not to use Kevin Butler, which is the best marketing weapon at their deposal. strange indeed, but i think Killzone 3 has the potential to do over 5 mil worldwide.

i think a million more in sales compared to killzone 2 is a possbility for sure, co-op offline is a huge plus for me and alot of my friends . i hope it achieves that at least , i was suprised by how much i liked killzone 2 after i hated killzone 1.

I think 5 million is a possibility, 4 million a definite imo.

1.co-op is very important to lots of buyers.

2.improved controls, game mechanics

3.advertising amount was surprisingly good for KZ2 but the actual commercial was dull. A KB commercial will help tons.

4.established fan base from KZ2

5.growth of console base, cod popularity will help any FPSs sales-anyone alse noticed how there cod  only obsessed friends suddenly buy games like battlefield and MOH, its like an entrance way to gaming lol .

First week somewhere around 1 million, but i expect better legs than KZ2, 

10 week total around 2.0 million, KZ2 was at 1.6 after 10 weeks.

first year around 3.0 million, KZ2 was at 2.2 after a year, but had semi terrible legs.

lifetime will definitly pass 4 million, 5 is a tricky number to get to but i think there is definitely a possibility of it hitting 5 after 3 yrs on market, especially if bundled during holidays.

as usual i hope i am terribly off and it sells 10 million

I also think Sony will bundle this along with all their Big games next holidays (KZ3, LB2, inF2, etc).

sony doesnt bundle mature games as much as E and Teen, but yes I expect some bundling.

I think you kind missed what i was saying, i have friends that used to only play cod and sports games but recently started playing games like battlefield,MOH,halo etc. cod was their entrance way into gaming proper.

personally I LOVE battlefield games, couldnt care less for cod or MOH.

I thought that too until I saw GOW3 and GOWC get bundled. 

KZ2 was bundled with MGS4, but I don't think that was during the holidays.
