Yea i heard that to but i think in the same article it said something about them still continueing on witht he game.

This is the first and only footage known about Fortress. it was meant to be a spin off of FF12's world, featuring both Basch and Ashe. originally it was outsourced to Swedish developer Grin, but since they closed down theres been no mention of the project. i'm guessing because the announcement is from SE Europe, they outsourced the project to another EU developer. however we could be wrong and it might have nothing to do with Fortress!

it might not even be a good game, seeing as we have no idea who from the SE Japan team are working on it, etc. i dont have high hopes for Fortress, maybe if FF12 was treated better i would care for it, but i dont have high hopes at the moment tbh.

Edit: i recently read in an interview for Tactics Ogre, that the Tactics Ogre remake took about a year to get together, one of the reasons being Matsuno is working on another project, with another company, if this is the case, maybe, just maybe hes been working on Fortress, Ivalice after all is his creation, who better to work on it.... however this might not even be Fortress.

FFI and FFIII are mediocre, even more mediocre than FF10 and FF13

FFII is horrendous, even more so than FF12, FFII felt like a game with broken systems, a part of the team that made it was banished from the FF series because of the terrible fan/critic response, you think FF13, FF12 opinions were a bit lukewarm? FF2 had a far bigger negative response back when it launched.

So why would I want a repeat of FF1,2 or 3. You may like them, I don't. Sure for its time FF1 was revolutionary, now? it doesn't hold up. FF4-FF9 still hold up though and each of them is better than any JRPG released this generation. (except The Last Story and Xenoblade, hopefully).

Whats wrong with TOV and TOGF and VC?

That was just a technical demo, it was probabily just a faceless character to fill in until they put in the main character. however what is interesting to me is that there is just 1 character, which does raise the question of whether it will be an RPG or not. however i have doubts that this 'Type-0' is even Fortress.

ff4-9 are in no way better than every jrpg this gen. and ff5 in no way holds up in my opinion.

3 more trademarks have been filed for: Type 1, Type 2, Type 3.... very ambigious at the moment... guess we might find out in 2 or 3 days.
