My Xbox 360's disc drive is dead again.
My work scedule is erratic. Sometimes I work 2 days and get a few days off. Sometimes, I work 5 or 6 days and get a week off. Sometimes I work days, sometimes I work nights. Well, one day last week I got off of work and noticed that my 360 was turned on. Inside of the console was Call of Duty Black Ops. That was strange because the last game I played was Super Street Fighter 4, on Sunday. It was WEDNESDAY! My GF let her brother and his son come put the Christmas tree up while I was at work. The kid played my 360 and left it on for three days. From that point on, I was having disc reading problems.
So we go shopping yesterday at about 10am. I get home at around 6pm. My 360 is on again. This time, Bully is in the console. I haven't played that game since I bought it! My kid left the 360 on. And before that, we've had house guests for the past seven days. All they wanted to do was play Smackdown and Black Ops on the 360, the whole damn time. These weren't my guests. Her family (nephews, their hot college age girlfriends--don't ask, and my daughter's best friend) have been taking turns sleeping over and playing my 360.
I had a week off and barely played anything (going back to work--5 twelve hour night shifts before I get another day off). I jump up at 5am to play Star Ocean and the 360 says, "Sorry I failed you, sir." and dies. Now I have to get another 360.
It's kinda strange. My 360 died (RRoD) when I got Mass Effect 1. I got it repaired and eventually got another (disc problems, again). My new one worked like a dream until the disc drive died in early 2010 (again, disc problems. The same kid put two discs in my 360 while I was at work.). I had just gotten Mass Effect 2!! Now, I download the Mass Effect DLC from XBL and it dies before I get to try it!! It's the Mass Effect Curse!!
