Forums - Sales - World Wide Up 360 over 1million!

For every person saying there is no reason to buy a XBox 360, you are not a true gamer. Please sell whatever systems you have and take up another hobby. Maybe stamp collection is your thing. Every system this gen is worth owning because EVERY system has well over 25 quality titles worth owning and playing. Even a true fanboy would be honest enough to believe this to be true. I'm an XBox 360 fan, but I also play quality exclusives on my PS3 , Wii, PC, PSP and DS. As an ex-hardcore gamer, I know it's all about the GAMES and not really the system. It's fine to have your favorite system, but don't spout out things that are so FAR from the truth it makes you look bad. You have a right to your opinion, but don't ever think it's a FACT.

Sorry for you GT5! Forza in his 60th week make's your debut nothing important...

You know what the really funny thing is?  GT5 in 4 weeks has 4.11 million sales, which is like 75% more sales than Forza 3...which has been out for 60 weeks.

Dude, it's a dead horse. The sales are like that because Forza 3 is bundled all around. GT5 isn't (only in Best Buy).

Actually GT5 was bundled as well. You didn't think it sold those numbers NOT being bundled, did you?

This was more recent, and we haven't seen its effect yet. This week, it's just the Best Buy bundle. So yes, actually non-bundled games did account for quite a portion of its sales.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Of course, but so did the bundles and it ran from the GT5 launch through Christmas. In any case, Forza 3 won't sell as much as GT5 for 2 reasons. 1) It's not as popular Worldwide as GT5. 2) The series hasn't been exposed to as many gamers as GT5.

The sales has nothing to do with the quality of the games. It's like those singing and dancing competition, where the most popular person win and the most talented comes in 2nd or 3rd.

Oh no doubt, and that's not my intention. It's just this poster named extagenesis decided to try and downplay GT5's American sales, so I was just pointing out how it's a fallacious comparison. Now, if GT5 was bundled all around the US, that's a different story.

I could have sworn I've seen a picture of GT5 bundle when it launched in America, so for about a month now.

That's why I'm asking if there were bundles apart from the Best Buy deal (which, by the way, isn't a good one, at $379 or so).

It was. They had bundles at Gamestop - http://news.punchjump.com/blog/2010/12/23/gamestop-offers-50-bonus-with-ps3-gt5-bundle/, but it was for a limited time. Those babies are gone now and I don't think Gamestop is getting anymore in. Anyway, yes there was a GT5 PS3 bundle in all of America.

You can always get it on Ebay - http://cgi.ebay.com/160GB-PS3-Slim-System-GT5-and-Grown-Ups-Blu-Ray-NIB-/150537803429?pt=Video_Games&hash=item230cc096a5

Again, there were shop-specific bundles, but no universal, all around bundle.

But even then, look at the date of the first link.

Exactly. The game is selling mostly on it's own merits and marketing. I've seen not only the KB ad quite often recently, but the regular GT5 commercial as well (especially on places like TruTV & Spike TV here in the States). The bundles are contributing, yes, but individual sales are doing much of the work.

True, but I meant, the date that article was posted is the 23rd. The numbers for this week ended on the 18th. Wouldn't that mean that the bundle hasn't taken effect yet?
