I didn't say fanless equate to crap. It is usually the opposite. But for gaming purposes, no amount of heatsink can cool your gpu as fast/good as an addition of a fan.
Playing video work your cpu, so, it is likely a bad job of installation.
Take a few pics of where the parts and all are before you unplug stuff, assuming you're not familiar with building your own computer.
My cpu used to be running at 60C idle until i replaced with a new heatsink/fan.
It's now running at 36C-40C.
If you want your computer to be quiet as possible, shop around for ones that has larger fan.
Or go liquid cooling :)
Try adding intake fan. Only single exhaust fan is not enough for passive GPU and high power CPU.

arf.... my CPU runs above 60... I have 4 case fans including a 120, and I bought a special heatsink fan for the CPU... I do have 2 graphics cards though....
I guess I must have badly installed the thermal paste?
the thing though is that I have an independent heat captor and the whole case is arround 60, if it was just the CPU, then it'd be localized.
(these are summer values when it was 30 in the room without the comp)

thats right thermal paste is what I was trying to talk about. It has been a while since I built my own pc.
Like mentioned stock CPU FAN do not do a good job of cooling. Also as I mentioned the thermal paste (gell) probably is applied wrong or forgotten like others have also mentioned.
its good that the GPU i am buying has 2 fans
Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

1 large one is much much better than 2 small ones.
The fan is really there just to push the hot air out so the heatsink can continue to work.

ok so what cpu fan/heatsink do you recommendand how much thermal paste do I apply to the top of the proccesoor before applying the heatsink/fan
A decent airflow should keep the temp between 30 - 40 degrees. That would include an intake fan, cpu fan, rear fan at a minimum.
Its probably be the cpu fan. Is it stock? Those are decent, but mostly loud.
Your cpu is quite good, which means it generates more heat then a regular one. Those kinds of cpu's needs 'brand' not 'stock' cooling. A good zalman or artic with fan and heatsink will do.
