I was personally not impressed with the soundtrack. I was expecting more perhaps.

What did you want more of? It has tons of orchestral stuff, would rather stuff a bit more varied?

I can understand expecting more. I certainly don't think it has the best soundtrack ever, but it certainly is up there imo.

I don't really know...FFX had some awesome musics.

It doesn't help that I didn't like the combat music :/

I liked a couple of them but I already forgot most.

That's understandable, but I absolutely love the combat music. I'm a sucker for violins and it has electric violins at about the ~35 second point, which immediately won me over.

I realllly disliked the music in Gran Pulse LOL. Gathering Platinum Ingot was painful :/

The one music I liked is this one:

And My Hands lol

I really enjoyed the soundtrack. It was pretty fantastic and it shows that the FF series does not need to solely rely on Nobuo. Under rated soundtrack and a vey under rated game.

Funny you bring this up now, recently was surprised to hear my bro listening to this while he was playing Starcraft 2:

Nearly forgot the game came out this year (already?), but yeah, great soundtrack. I do think most of the tracks didn't have enough of a stand-out melody, fitting better as "background music," but still, very good. The boss theme (Saber's Edge) is probably my fav.

I don't agree at all. To me the musical score is one of the low points of Final Fantasy XIII, nothing catches your attention and if it does it's for the wrong reasons. Bring back Nobuo Uematsu!

Signature goes here!

I agree. It's actually one of my favorite Final Fantasy soundtracks. I'd guess you're at least partially correct about the reason why it's so overlooked; the multiplatform controversy and general outpouring of hate for the game (not all of which is undeserved) takes up a lot of air in the room. Plus the fact that it's comprised of more evenly high quality songs rather than having a few big ones. The only really big one was "My Hands", and we all know how people shat bricks over it.

But yeah, stuff like Sunleth Waterscape, Snow and Lightning's themes, and the battle themes are some of the best in the series. It's a shame Hamauzu left. I thought they'd found their new Uematsu.

Yeah. Definitely great soundtrack (although I liked X soundtrack more). Not best of the year though. Nier takes that. =P

A game that will not recieve a single award either and it's bullshit.

Music was good, but nothing really stood out.

I especially liked the normal background music in levels. They fit the game pretty well.

@Killerman: Nier's soundtrack shocked me...very underrated indeed.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

It only had one good track - Blinded by Light (the battle theme). Everything else had no real melody and/or poor choice of instruments. But I don't like the rest of the composer's work or for that matter anything by Uematsu so FFXIII is therefore my favourite FF soundtrack,

I agree. It really is shame =(. I really don't get it how it has meta score of only 68. Only area that is below avegare are graphics and even those are not as horrible as reviewers say.
