Plenty of Wii and X360 stock here (Middle East). Keep in mind, the PlayStation brand here is very strong.

That's surprising; I mean, it was just as strong in Europe back in 2005/6, yet they completely devoured Playstation market share there so I assumed that there would be an external factor such as lack of distribution and/or ridiculously high costs affecting their sales there.

Well, I have lived in the MEAA region where it's always been Sony-domination for most of my life, :P. I recall that, in India, I didn't even know about that the PlayStation brand had competition (I thought that Pokemon Battle Revolution was a PS2 game, xD). There, I'm pretty sure that the Wii just wasn't pushed enough (360 had a massive campaign, though, yet I still didn't realize that it was a video game console) or it would've at least made a dent of some sort in the market.
