Forums - General - Good Blu Ray players for £100 - £150

Hey, my mum foolishly bought about 5 blu rays today thinking she could play them on her dvd player (yeah I know)

So she wants to buy a Blu Ray player and I told her she could get one for around £100, although I don't know exact prices (I'm assuming they're below £150 at this point ..)

Would rather have something that isn't the most basic, but as good a blu ray as she can get for £100 - £150. Preferably in retail, because she doesn't like getting things online.

Edit - I live in UK if the £ wasn't obvious enough.

Add £ more to it, and get a PS3 , you wanted one in quite awhile right?

PS i'm not trying to troll, just a suggestion.

It's not for me it's for my mum. There are a lot more things I would rather spend £100 on at the moment as well what with xmas.

I'm sure she'd love a PS3 with the Sports Champions Move bundle for Christmas.

Huh ... no. It's obvious I'd get her Demon Souls!

BluRay Consortium educational team, hang your heads in shame.

Is it any wonder that BluRay is failing to get off the ground proper. You've got to invest in telling the people of its virtues and features.

I live in the UK, its Xmas in 4 days and I havent seen a single BluRay specific advertisement all year !

Tell your mum to sell the BluRays on Ebay.

My dad did the same thing a few months back and sent them back, but I thought it was a pretty obvious thing. I guess not for people that arnt "techy"

But no she likes the idea of Blu Ray now so just going to see what can be bought for £100/£150

Ps3 with constant firmware updates will be best BlueRay player on the market.

Go a little Further For a PS3

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

thats simply not true any more...

OT

plenty for that price at comet....

comet .. hmm, more or less same as currys? I don't know if their is a comet near me to my knowledge.

If there is one for £100 and one for £150, is the (assumed) jump in quality worth the extra?
