How is Crysis?

Total:0

Honestly, in context of hype and expectation (and ludicrous metascore), Crysis is by far the worst shooter I ever played. The only one that comes close is F.E.A.R.

I know. I've had this discussion with several members!

I loved Far Cry though (the original, second was terrible).

All flash and no substance. Theres much better games. Then again, if you're a fan of sandbox gameplay, go for it.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

WTF?! Fear was like, one of the best pc shooters :(. Wasn't it pc game/shooter of 2004?

For some reason, yes. I didn't like it at all though. Those two games are just a couple out of a whole bunch of highly rated games that I really didn't like and are part of the reason why I don't pay much attention to reviews any longer.

For me, the best PC shooters were Half-Life 1 and 2 (with episodes, Episode is what all FPS games should strive to be), Deus Ex, Call of Duty 1 and 2, Far Cry, Call of Juarez and a few others.

Going all superhuman with the Nanosuit was pretty cool to do :D.

It had a good basis for a Shooter but not enough to call it one of the best shooters on PC. And yes the graphics are insane. I have a friend who is has been able to run Crysis on the highest graphics settings and holy shit it still it Graphics King on PC IMO.

Well, for a long while I had pretty much avoided it  for two reasons 1- My pc was shite and 2- I was a fool who proclaimed it to simply be a graphics fest, this is not the case however as it is infact, much to my bemusement at the time, a properly good game. Ofcourse it doesnt hurt being able to play it in absolutely max settings  without so much as a hiccup (bar one extremely processor heavy bit, but that was over in literally 10 second).

There is one problem with the game though, it is incomplete and will not be completed. By this i refer to the final level of the game which will not run on DX10 settings, the rest of the game is fine at DX10, but this is easily remedied by playing the last level in DX9 mode.

The suit holds you back far more than it helps you out.

Stealth is used the most and drains the battery rather rapidly. You'll spend more time waiting for your suit to recharge than you will sneaking around.

Shield is the default and  your suit will jump back to this whenever you drain the battery. It's not particularly useful either as it can only take 1 or two hits before your health starts taking a knock.

Speed would be great if you could run more than a few yards before the battery has been drained. You'll use this pretty rarely, as it's effectlively useless.

Strength you will never use unless you are bored. Getting close enough to an enemy so that you can throw them isn't really viable, and the benefit in aiming for the heavier guns is... negligible.

Customizing the guns is pretty nice, But gameplay is pretty much shake, rinse, repeat.

There is  also one level in particular (and people who have played it will know) that is utterly horrible and out of place. You just float around with your suit's abilities rather useless.
