Forums - Sony - Prediction: PSP2 will get as many games as 3DS the first year.

I know I will be on the minority on this, but I really believe most of the games 3DS is getting will also be on PSP2 espacially in Japan. Moreover, it will get PS3, 360 and Wii games as ports.

I really see the PSP2 as the chance for Sony to get western support back but I doubt it will lose the Japanese support.

Disscuss

well i don't know about the last one but i can see the games part being true.

I think it's totally possible, I mean the PSP2 will (most likely) be more powerful so it should be able to handle the games but what about the touch screen? (and to a lesser extent, motion controls)? - - - I guess they could find a way if they really wanted, but why would they?

I mean the games would look sucky as ports of a less graphically capable system compared to it's own games so it probably wouldn't sell too well, and making a whole other version probably won't be too economically viable an option since 3DS' base will most likely be much larger than the PSP2's

//All of this is just speculation, we know nothing about PSP2 atm!!

I am still baffle to why Sony won't put touch screen into the PSP, but as far as support goes, there are too many games to choose from, but I do hope Sony support this device themselves like they did the ps3.

Sure why not? I'm not buying a PSP2 on release though, so that first year won't even matter to me tbh.

I lol'd.

Despite good HW sales in total the PSP software has been completely dead outside of Japan for many years. I since the PSP2 will suffer of that. The third parties will not back as much a console where the sales have been so disappointing software wise.

The 3DS will win the console war, I think it's already a given. It has everything on its side. So I think the PSP2 will not get as many games as the 3DS as the 3DS is getting all the support that the DS lacked due to his limited power. All third parties seem ready to make the 3DS the next standard.
