@Recon1O1. I am not objecting to the league points that people earn for RPGs. I actually think it is good.

@RONSTER316. I am not currently setup for dealing with DLC separate in the league. I have thought about it, but the time to do so is not feasible right now. Also, I think that allowing all games is a good approach, but I will do that next season. This season is too far along to change it now. Another approach would be giving different point levels. 7 pts. for the original platinum, and then maybe 3 pts for every subsequent re-platinum. Also, making XBLA/WP7 platinums less points then RETAIL games. Maybe 4 pts?

Overall I like the way the league points are working this year. I would like to see some changes but we will implement changes next year. This year seems to be very competitive and I don't want to rock that boat. Everyone knows the rules and people seem to be enjoying them. There are good groupings of competition in the standings and it is good to see no one is running away with the title too early.

Keep it up everyone!

I just hate that "completed" games are no longer completed when DLC comes out. I worked long and hard for 1,000 points in Red Dead, Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction only to have all of those games ripped away from my profile, no longer completed because I may or may not have felt like playing all the DLC.

And no DLC should come out during the race window of the first month. That just totally screws with the race when two days before its over more gamerscore is added... If you have content to add to a game that soon after launch then it should have just been part of the game to begin with.

And Ronster, I'm sorry... so you've played 1 RPG and ten minutes of another. I was wrong to say you aren't familiar with the ins and outs of the genre :p

But Mass Effect is just as much shooter as it is RPG and Fable 2 is a joke, an action adventure game trying to pretend to be an RPG. I liked Fable 2 for what it was, but by the end game you can have maxed out all of your stats easily which basically just takes away the whole element of making choices of what your character will be skilled in. It's not like you pick to be a fighter, or mage or ranger... you become all of those things.

@ Neo

The league has been fantastic this year..... and of course it would be mad to change anything half way through the season.

We all know the rules for this year, so for example if you know DLC is coming for a game soon after release and just before the race ends, then we are just going to have to either keep hold of it, or find alternate ways that week to make some points.

Theres no question about it though........... DLC has become a pain in the ass this year.

It's good that we are all having this conversdation though............ because its going to make an already great league even GREATER next year.

@ JPL

I know buddy............ my fave game of all time has RPG elements (Shenmue) but i am of course aware that its not a proper hardcore RPG like say Final Fantasy or Tales of Vesperia.

Mass Effect is more shooter really than RPG (I just still didnt like it, thats all) and Fable 2........ well, seemed more like an adventure game to me than anything (but again i just simply did not like it).

With regards to completed games been ripped away from you........ i feel your pain man........ i would love to have my Stranglehold plat back, but i AM NOT prepared to pay 1200MSP for a bunch of extra online multiplayer maps (why the Stranglehold DLC has never been on sale is beyond me)

Thanks for stepping to the plate JPL but I think the biggest issue is in cases like this. I buy the most recent dlc for Fallout:Vegas and not only steal the plat from Vehement Abyss and others but get another full 7 lg pts for it. I don't have a suggestion for how to avoid taking plats from people who don't immediately buy all the dlc but I do feel kinda bad about it. If it were once or twice then fine but some of them are getting 8-10 dlc with achs. I think that's Neo's objection anyway. You work pretty hard to max out a decent rpg and I don't think anyone's saying they don't belong just that you shouldn't get 63 plat pts for buying and completing every add-on. I love Ronster as much as Kate Middleton-Windsor though I suspect he's a bit harder on the eyes.

I say anyone who feels like buying the New Vegas DLC and gets all the achievements for it deserves the plat imo. I bought Dead Money and thought it was such a piece of garbage (I stopped near the end) that I don't think I'm ever touching that game again. I absolutely detest when Bethesda/Obsidian release this crappy DLC that completely obliterates what made the game fun to begin with. Yes, strip me of all of my items, that's real original. So yeah, if you guys wanna suffer through more of this kind of nonsense, be my guest.

My problem is I think I've only played two good RPGs in the last two years. I've tried Dragon Age II, Fallout: New Vegas, and Two Worlds II now, and the only one I can remotely come close to calling a good game is Dragon Age II, because at least it isn't broken or boring me to tears yet.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

A CLUE?!!!!!

Seece: A countdown. You knew that.

theman: dlc has always been a bit of a rip in $/hr but I agree even my fav devs are pushing the limit. Bethesda's A team had some great buys in Broken Steel and Port Lookout but Obsidian's Vegas dlc seems disjointed and overpriced. We got a Fallout game to play while their top guns worked on Skyrim so it's not all bad but it hurt their reputation.

Dragon Age 2 lacked the scope or scale of DA and I wasn't particularly fond of the characters. Not a bad game but again it seems like this was BioWare's B team. Let's hope ME3 will give us a galactic conflict featuring the charactera and races we've come to know. I hope they revive some of the rpg elements I enjoyed in ME as promised.

Recon, yes I was asking for a clue, I know it was countdown I aint stupid.

Sowwy!

Unrelated but I'm going to have to lie low for a couple months. Just till the Bolger trial is over. Enjoy yourselves.
