Akira is the best manga I've ever read, it's better than the film and is 6 volumes of win.

What's the name of the manga where Shikamaru Nara brilliantly figured out how to defeat the immortal Hidan? That was amazing!!!

You must have some crazy selective memory because you just mentioned the name, the enemy, that enemies primary ability and an expression of your experience while reading about that battle, but you can't remember the name.
I think your referring to Yu Yu Hakusho.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

So they are going to make Bleach the third (fourth?) longest anime ever made? Do they not realize that the popularity will die like Pokemon and Detective Conan did?

No, it was Naruto. :p
My point was that you shoudn't say that one certain thing isn't allowed in your thread title just because you don't like it. I like Naruto a lot, but personally think that Code Geass is just one big mindless explosion. It's people's right to like it though ( several think it's great) and if I were to make a thread about anime or manga and say that Code Geass wan't allowed, that wouldn't be cool either.

The thread title was a lame joke, I explained the joke earlier in the thread and also explained that people are allowed to talk about whatever manga/anime that they want. Feel free to judge, praise or ignore anything Naruto related in this thread. I'd also appreciate some mini reviews if you can provide some.

It's kind of off-topic, but what are the chances of a 20 year old with barely any professional business experience and has 2 years of a Marketing degree under his belt, got when trying to apply for Operational Sales Manager job at a small time anime, game and general J-pop culture publishing studio for an Australian magazine. They are apparently partners with SEGA, THQ, Sqaure Enix, Sony and a bunch of anime publishers.
I'd go for it, but being only 20, I think my chances are fairly low. It also doen't help that I look as far away from the general perception of what a general anime lover looks like (recently shaved head, olive skin, looks like a trendy Lebanese gang member) and I doubt those qualities would help if they want me to go to conventions, promote a maid cafe (specifically mentioned that in the listing) and just interact with otakus (who I hate with every fibre of my being).
I would like the job though. I've always wanted that niche job with a close knit group of people that involves some of my favourite hobbies (games, manga and anime). I'm also worried that if I do get the job, I'm not going to be experienced enough to pull through and be as good as they want me to be (because of my lack of experience). What do y'all think?

Application can't hurt. Worst that happens is you get a full-time job you hate, but when you're only 20 that isn't too bad, and even if you stick it out for a while you could find other opportunities through that job. Simple.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

GTO: The Early Years
If your familiar with the Great Teacher Onizuka manga/anime, then you'll probably enjoy this little spin off series based around the teen years of Onizuka and Dahma. It's pretty simple when it comes to plot, which basically involves the two delinquents trying to lose their virginity and through a series of drastic action, hilarity ensues. If you liked the original series, then I'm sure you'll enjoy the quirky humour and the delinquent high school badassery that follows the main characters around. It's fun to read and I'd recommend it if your looking for a few chuckles.

Paranoia Agent
A psychological thriller that takes a variety of characters from all walks of life and entwines them into a local phenomenon that delves into each characters deepest problems and how they react to the world under different circumstances. It has such and interesting plot and I find it really hard to stop myself from reading until the early hours of the morning. The characters are what makes the show, at first they all seem kind of normal, but as you start to see what happens behind closed doors, their real characteristics and problems start to open up and it's sometimes frightening.
The main plot line involves a series of attacks from an unknown delinquent that the media have named 'Little Slugger' and it follows two detectives are in charge of finding out how the attacker is and how all his victims are connected to each other. Paranoia Agent was made to twist your perspective of how people are when alone and how certain people react to certain situations and it succeeds on both accounts. If your into thrillers that need a little bit of brain power to get in to, then highly recommend this series.

Shaman King
It follows the shonen handbook way to closely and that makes it kind of off putting. If your looking to get into another standard shonen that follows a young guy looking to become the best at what he does, while also being laid back and happy go lucky, then I guess Shaman King is alright, but I'd much rather recommend something like One Piece, History's Strongest Disciple or Fullmetal Alchemist (especially Fullmetal Alchemist).
Anime Hour

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
I'll keep this one short. Brotherhood is an amazing series that consists of 50 episodes. The animation, dialogue, plot and voice acting is all fantastic and it's one of the few shonen anime that offers action packed fights, while also dwelling on mature themes and an incredibly interesting plot line. I highly recommend Fullmetal Alchemist and I can't imagine that any anime fan could dislike it.

Dead Leaves
If your into really interesting animation and batshit insane wackiness, then I'm pretty sure you'll love Dead Leaves. The movie is strong on animation, craziness and a stellar soundtrack, but the story isn't actually compelling, though it is crazy and should keep you entertained. It's recommended if your into new crazy art styles and love the idea of having retro cartoons mixed with more action oriented and mature themes. It's funky and delicious.
I'm trying to keep this thread going, so if anyone's willing to help by posting their own reviews on any manga, anime or movie that they've been watching, don't hesitate to post.
