| Docwiz said: Tickle Me Elmo was a doll that couldn't do much. The technology behind Kinect can be revolutionary and it is useful, there is a big difference. It's like saying well this plastic car sold great for Christmas and so then you go on to say that a real car is just a gimmick. Kinect has already done every form of game that can ever be done on it successfully. Party, fitness, sports, dance. Where will the innovation come from? Kinect will make it to the PC and it can be put in cars and it can actually save lives if you modify the technology a little bit. Sure. Kinect has fantastic technology. Not relevant to gaming or consoles any more beyond what we've seen. For gaming it is revolutionary, it is the start of the Holodeck type of technology in the newer Star Treks, it's the first part down that path. Where's the progression, and has MS got a business plan with that on? I don't think so. You can argue this all you want, but it can be used in a real world of things that improve life and entertainment, I can't say that for Tickle Me Elmo. Yes, it has great potential outside gaming. Agreed. Entertainment in Movies, Music, Video games. It can teach people to dance and have fun at the same time in their own home. It can keep their mind off their problems, it can relax them and it get them physically healthy without cheating (you could always fake out the wii controller). Wii did this four years ago. There is no new genre of game here. So, no I don't think Tickle Me Elmo did anything like this. Sales will crash in January so hard, especially software, watch this space. |

nothing like a taste of their own medicine?
