Since these games are setting the bar high, they will not run on the inferior hardware of the Wii. This leads to all AAA titles going to either PS3 or XBox, or both if it's cross-platform. And we are inevitably left with a much lower quality library on the Wii. My guess is that half the money EA is making FROM the Wii, is going into the development of titles for other consoles. Nintendo is a pretty family-friendly company. They worry about things like online games and violence. Best way to keep me from buying your console? Alienate the hardcore gamer, develop a piss-poor online platform, and then try to tell me you understand my demographic. 'Hardcore' players tend to prefer a classic controller to the Wiimote Motion controls have been implemented better on the PS3 than on the Wii. Don't bother trying to argue this point, as it's just an opinion. And as an aside... I still dont know what the f--- they were thinking when they named this thing. As a second aside, despite the way it may have come across through text: I don't hate the Wii, it's just not my thing.

Using VGChartz data the Wii sold 6,336,841 pieces of software in November in North America (not including Wii Sports or Wii Play) which works out to 0.90 games sold in November for every Wii system sold to date; in general the attach rate for Wii games (not including Wii Sports and Wii Play) is 3.21 so I'm pretty sure its fair to sal that (pretty much) EVERYONE has moved on and bought a second game besides Wii Sports.

These graphics intensive AAA games also have a huge budget and take a very long time to develop, with the massive number of these games which have had questionable profitability on the PS3 and XBox 360 I'm not too sure third party developers will be pushing these games as heavily in the near future.

Beyond that, everything else in your post is gibberish ...

Don't forget the kids in school usually have the most time to play games so they are pretty much by definition the most so-called "hardcore" gamers.

When I play multiplayer its not on live. It's usually at school, or at my friends office. We hook up a couple of 360's on a network and have frag parties. And most of the people that do go online that I know don't just join any old multiplayer game goin. And you can't tell me if the PSN had a good multiplayer network going that immature gamers wouldn't be on that. One of the reasons why Halo sells so well is because it appeals to a lot of working professionals who like to wind down on the weekends and simply just have frag parties.

Yeah stupid games like Ratchet, Gran Turismo or LittleBigPlanet that simply cannot compete with the non-violent and sophisticated games on the Wii like Resident Evil UC, Red Steel or Medals of Honor.

I think you misunderstood the statement ...

Saying the PS3 and XBox 360 (most likely) will continue to get more "Mature" games than the Wii will neither implies that the Wii has no (or even few) "Mature" games, and it also doesn't imply that the PS3 or XBox 360 have no (or even few) non-"Mature" games.

 

In the end I think the Wii is pondering to the 14year old insecure boy demographic as much or more than the other systems. Using the Wii controller to simulate choking people in GodFather? Shoot&Kill with the Zapper and Medal of Honor? Slicing them up in Red Steel?

No the Violence has not much to do with the system choice. I will concede though that 14-30 year old males are more impressed by the technical brilliance and beautiful looks of games on the other two. I couldn't play a Wii or PS2 game anymore (besides a quick round of Tennis with friends) They look like hell on a HD-TV.

Besides 360/PS3 simply have by far the more sophisticated games. Yes everyone can play Wii Tennis or Mario Kart but if you are able to play games that give you more options, a bigger world, a better storyline why not use it? Bioshock, MAss Effects, Assassin's are all games that give you many options, a great story and innovative gameplay. Console games on PS3 and 360 have become more mature that is correct but not (only) in the violence section. PC games also started off simple but they evolved into more complex beasts like realtime strategy games, advanced role-playing games etc. pp.

I think that is the main distinction. The Wii is more accessible, 360/PS3 have the more complex, advanced games. At the moment keeping it simple lets the Wii sell more units but if you like your games complex, beautiful with great stories and many options you will not be content with the Wii. Both approaches have their merit and you have to choose the right system for your gaming requirements. Or buy both.

1) Halo came out 6 years ago.. those 14 to 21 are now 20 to 27

2) Sarcasm failed... Violent and butch games where on the PS2 not the Xbox.  God of War, Manhunt, GTA??

3) Halo server? I think you mean forums.. yeah, probably not the best place to take a straw poll of peoples age or maturity. How many adults do you know actually visit gaming forums?? I'm the only one I know, none of my friends with 360 visit forums (that I know).
