When it becomes a 'Greatest Hit' probably prior to 2011 holidays, it will sell like crazy. I definitely see 5 - 6 million lifetime.

God of War 3 is amazing. People buy you this game alone is worth a PlayStation 3 The graphics, the gameplay just incredible

You can download GOW I & II on PSN, so I think GOW III is still losing.

I agree that this cant beat GOW1 and 2 because of the HD rerelease of those two games. which i feel should count.

but GOW3 has done very well, less than a year since release and its almost outsold GOW2 which is very good. it will definitly pick up with some more price cuts and possibiliy a GOTY rerelease with DLC they've said they might produce which i feel this deserves.

Even though it's God of War I & II, it's on a different platform altogther, so it should count separately. It's like when a game is exclusive to one platform, then goes multiplat, get's upgrades, extra DLC, visual fixes etc, etc. That game is still on a different platform and still a different game (Mass Effect 2/Bioshock come to mind).

Just because it's says God of War I & II (which really, the GoW Collection is a game in and of itself) doesn't mean the sales should be included with PS2 iterations. You can't play them on the PS2, so why should it be included? Even VGC doesn't include them, as they shouldn't.

At this point, the consensus is correct, God of War III is the fastest selling (and will be the highest selling) in the franchise.

PS3 Mass Effect 2 sales will still be counted along with the other versions of ME2 even though it's a tiny bit different.
 Bioshock sales are counted along as well, so I'm not sure what you're getting at with that.

If I buy COD4 on the Wii will the sales not be counted with the COD4 franchise just because the graphics aren't HD like on the 360/PS3? (just like GoW 1&2 PS3 vs. GoW 1&2 PS2) VGC also doesn't combine other games on different platforms together (ME2/Bioshock/COD games, etc) so why would they combine them in this case as well? You're point makes no sense.


Once there is copy of GOW3 with better visuals and more trophies, we can count the collection with the PS2 GOW sales. Otherwise its not fair, since there are 2 versions of GOW 1 and 2 and only 1 version of GOW3

screw this, why the hell are people not getting Ghost of Sparta, put aside your hatred of the PSP the Spartan spear and sheild makes it worth the purchase alone. OT good for GOW3 I liked that game and still play it every now and then

I stillt think GoW could have done much better if it had more extra content or a simple online duelling horder co-op kinda of thing going for it. We're goign to see kratos in MK so why not?

We must also remember PS2 was highly pirated so I would guess some 10m people must have burned  and bought each Gow thats why not single Ps2 (other than GT) had gigantic sales. So I don't really thinkg Sony or Sanata Monica took advantage of the PS2--- PS3 players, sale wise.

Can't we all just say God of War III has amazing sales for a game that's on a much smaller userbase than the previous console and it hasn't even been out for a year yet?

 

I think GOW III indeed has amazing sales and that's great stuff!
