Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto response to Insominiac Spherical World Claim -> Is that a PC Game?

"Miyamoto isn't a gamer. He's not like the people on this site. It's not his job to examine what other games are coming out. It's his job to keep making the awesome games that he does."

Absolutely right. Musicians are much the same way. After working so close with the style of music you create, you look to other vices to give you inspiration. He probably has not played any video games that were not part of his development process for some years now. This is how people stay motivated with their job.

Deal with it.

Poor Miyamoto.  All this over a silly comment and some folks with thin skins.

 I know.

The sad part is that 50% of my favorite games are those no one has ever heard of and I don't take offense at it so why should they?

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks
