Forums - General - A Tale of crap luck.

I have been having some terrible luck lately. So terrible that I find the need to post it here. Every now and then things get rough, and we work through them, but sometimes stuff just gets plain insane. That is were I sit right now.

It started back in August. I bought a house in April, and it came with washer, dryer, microwave, stove, dishwasher, and a riding lawn mower. In August the washing machine went tits up, and would not spin anymore. It looked like it was about twenty years old so I bought a new matching washer and dry.

Then in October, the riding lawn mower starts acting up. So I change the oil, put in a new spark plugs, clean the air filter and exhaust, and sharpen the blades. Its good for three mows then the motor seizes. No clue why, plenty of oil, everything was tuned up.

Next in November the drain system on the dishwasher fails. When the people I bought the house from got hardwood floors, they were installed on top of the old floor. The dishwasher was on the level of the old floor, about a 1/4 inch lower than the top of the new hardwood. So instead of leaking on the floor it leaked under the floor.

Now in December, I have had my mailbox ran over, and finally today the fan on my TV burnt out.

So now I need a new riding lawn mower (2.5 acres, not doing it by foot), a new floor, a new dishwasher, a new mailbox, and a my TV repaired.

I am laughing my ass of right now, because I can't believe all this is happening at the same time. Right now I am trying to save for a new car also, and getting to and from work is the number one concern. So all these things are just going to have to wait.

Anyways, I just thought this was interesting. I am very grateful for what I have, and know things are going to get even better, but it is just funny how all this has happened in the last couple of months.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

i bet you never asked the important question: "Why do you want to sell your house anyway?"

but i feel for you. it's really a patch of bad luck.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Damn. When and if I ever buy a house that question will be the first I ask.

And KBG29, sorry to hear about your shitty luck. I hope things turn around for you soon.
