Xbox 360 fans should not want Kinect to do well. If it sells well, that means more and more devs could  abandon future core 360 titles in favor of Kinect titles. It's games will become like Wii third party games.

So the opposite. I want this so that devs start using it more and integrate it into awesome games and experiences. The more popular this is, the more advanced the tech will get. Eventually there will be hybrid systems in place for some games/programs and it's just going to keep getting better!

This. 360 owners are playing with fire. It could be very cool, but you guys are probably going to get burned. Crappy analogy aside, as of now, there are no good games for it, but with the vgas coming up, that may change.

That's where the hybrid Kinect/controller games come in.  You know, "buttons."  ;)

what does being a fan have to do with expectations.

No the thing is good core games sell exceptionally well on the 360.  Devs aren't going to stop making core games for the 360 period.

I don't mind the prospect of using Kinect as an "add on" for games, as long as the regular controller is used as well. That would actually be kind of cool and devs could make it work well. It's just the idea of using ONLY Kinect for games that I strongly dislike. I just can't see many games working well with that. Plus, as a hybrid game you could make it compatible to those who do not wish to fork out $150 for a motion camera add on, and expand your potential sales for a particular game.

I mean even the Wii, most games use buttons AS WELL AS motion controls. Those are the kinds of games devs should concentrate on if they are really serious about pushing the Kinect.

Actually it does have at least 1 good game and that is Dance Central.  And a couple of decent games like Kinectimals, Your Shape, and Kinect Sports.

Hey, the Wii is doing it, and the PS3 is now doing it.  Next up the Xbox 360.
