Yeah the AI is terrible dude. Don't get me wrong I like the game but the AI is shit.

The AI is not as bad as some make out, I've seen some drivers completly screw up and go off track. Though I do wish that after a collision they would stop ramming me ¬_¬

I find the AI no better no worse than any other in a racing title, really.  I do think for various reasons GT5 was put on a pedestal where it was expected it was going to deliver all kinds of huge leaps in every area, amazing AI, amazing graphics, amazing in-car views, etc.

Clearly it was never going to deliver to that level, a level that, not just some gamers, but for some odd reason a lot of the gaming press and more popular blogs decided it had to hit to be considered successful.

When you look it vs GT titles on PS2 you see it actually does pretty much all you would more reasonably expect given its roots.

The GT5 AI is petty good after you progress in the game... some pilotes are impossible to win and make a new route every lap.
