So... based on these screenshots, do you think there'll be limited lives/retries in the game? What do you think of this?. I think it will be awesome and like the old days... not like new games where you can die countless times and just select "Restart from checkpoint" or something like that... it's like today's games are made for people who suck at games :P

 

Look at the "Retry" thing in the top right of the screenshots

 

PS: Does anyone know what they're saying? xD

maybe the game just counts how many times you've retried, first picture you've died 8 times, second one you've died 12 times.

or

maybe you get less score the more retries you use. Maybe the second picture should be first, and with each retry your score (above retry) gets lower

Limited lives has its good sides, although personally I dislike it. It discourages trying new stuff. If I try new stuff and fail, I probably end up losing a life. Losing all lives means the end of the game, and losing in that way is no fun. Other than that, I like the whole limited lives idea.

Anyway, I don't think that's what it is. I don't think I've ever played a game that has limited lives and is not a platformer. Usually it's platformers that have limited lives and mostly not other games.

Yeah, maybe it just counts the times you've retried... but (I'm not sure) I think these screenshots are from around the beginning of the game... I wonder what happened that made the player retry so many times :P

It's "Catherine", it'll be released on PS3 and Xbox 360. The name of the game is in the thread title :P

I knew what the name of the game was, it's just it looked like the one which was announced for the Wii couple of days ago, didn't know if it was the same one. Clearly not

Game seems cool, it not an RPG like Persona, so i'm not sure what to expect, but i dont think the 'lives' thing will be there, unlimited retrys seems more reasonable imo. i think if that 'retrys' thing in the screenshot will just lead to more and more retrys, imo that lives thing in games shouldve died a long time ago.
