Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft - 360 Exclusive Kingdoms Has a Really Good Future Next Year

One of the more mysterious games announced at this year’s E3 was “Codename: Kingdoms.” Not much has been said about the project, other than the fact that Crytek is making the game exclusively for the Xbox 360. Even with a dearth of information about the title, Microsoft seems quite confident about it. Xbox UK marketing manager Stephen McGill was quick to point out Kingdoms in an interview with GamesIndustry (registration required) as an exciting, upcoming Xbox 360-exclusive, and indicated that it is set to be released next year.

“Obviously we’re not going to announce any third-party products on their behalf, but one that we’ve announced, that we’re going to be developing with Crytek, is Kingdoms. That’s a brand new IP that has a really good future next year.”

Wow, a 1st party employee hyping an exclusive, what else is new? >.>

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Looking at the concept art I think it does have a future and looks very special.

Yeah the Art is Fantastic. Cant Wait to see the Game.

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

And here I thought it was impressions from a reviewer. Sorry, but seeing how they've handled Alan Wake's launch, I'm not going to believe it just like that.

That said, the concept art looked very, very interesting.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

So does that mean its going to release in 2011?

Oh that's good. Sooner rather than later. The concept art is amazing.

At VGAs perhaps? the E3 trailer looks nothing new, but it got me interested with those great Concept arts that they shown.

So we still know nothing.  So there is still nothing to get excited about.

Interesting. MS backing a non-shooter/Fable with large promise? Maybe they have learned their lesson. Though I won't be inclined to believe that until they give the inevitable Alan Wake 2 the marketing it deserves. Seriously, they had something really special with AW-- probably the most unique game in years with one of the best stories as well. And they let it brace the icy realm of the consumer's market on it's own.

Ah, well . . . we'll see. I'll need to know more on Kingdoms first, like everyone else.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
