This is probably a kinda unusual help request, but anyway: 

I've played FFVI all day today, and although the game is fun and all, I've wanted to stop playing it for today for a while now, but I cant!

I've made so much progress, but I can't turn the game off, becasue I haven't saved the game, and I can't find any save points.

I started playing as locke when he's about to save Celes in Figaro, and now I'm past the opera scene and just arrived at the Empire by air ship, and I still haven't found any save points, help please, or I will be doomed to play the game for all eternity!

aren't there enyone online that has played FFVI?

As far as I remember those sparkling points on the ground you see are the save points and I'm pretty sure you can save at any time on the world map too

You can save at any place/time in the world map......

Open the menu and click on save

You can save on the world map anywhere!!

you can only save at the blue dot, it will flash when you touch it, thats when you can save in dungeons and i think 2 or 3 towns, i'm supprised you didnt realise.

if your playing on an emulator, depending on which one you use, you can save anytime, anywhere, using the button it tells you. it could be F2, or F3. but it depends, if you are using an emulator remember which slot you saved in because if you dont you'll think you've lost your save file, but you havent really, its still there.

you can save anywhere on the overworld or at designated 'save points'.  Which reminds me, its been far too long since I played FFVI

I can!?!?! Omg! I feel stupid now xD I've been playing through the entire game up until this point only saving at save points.

Well, at least I got lots of playtime today^^

Why would you want to stop playing it anyways? =)

Because I had already played it for the entire day and I felt like doing something else :P

Pisses me off that my data corrupted (playing it in a emulator) which makes it even worse that I reached the halfway point and the game had reached a difficulty spike. Will a dive in the game another time don't feel like putting another 30 hours in >.<
