GREAT were on the same page then! =D
Possible scenarios
1. The group secured good pricing based on volume. This seems a very likely scenario and would explain why they would purchase more than they can consume.
2. The store is ordering more than it can consume now in preperation for increased demand later. The seems also equally possible.
I am sure hundreds of other reasons could be given both positive and negative examples but I suspect these two myself.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

ok let me just say this. I have worked at gamestop in the past before for well over a year. So I don't know how your store is run but our managers would estimate demand and order stock. Yes this included consoles. And yes sometimes are shipment did not come or we were over shipped to compensate for promotions or to hold off until the next shipment.
This is how it was when I worked at bestbuy as well.
So from my experience, someone fucked up with your orders.
it would actually be surprising if it wasnt in the US (according to your profile anyway)

You're joking right? Someone has to make the order in your store- companies just don't send out batches of products and hoped they guessed right. Its up to the store to make the orders based on demand. You obviously don't work in retail. Also I like how you have three pics of the same stack of ps3's |
leatherhat is correct

That is correct. Only general managers can order shipments or the higher ups. Over stock can also be shipped from stores to other stores.
