Forums - Sales - This put Kinect sales into perspective for me

I'm not sure in with category of most sold electronic kinect falls into.

It can't compete with phones can it? Comparing it to the iPAD doesn't make much sense. More like Source said, Wii Fit may be a fair comparison...

It's not about that. All the article is saying is that iPad set the record and Kinect broke it. Just like when the Dreamcast launched it was the biggest even bigger than the biggest movies, untill PS2.

I think the iPad is starting to lose some momentum because anyone who is interested in purchasing one now, who has done any sort of research, will be aware that iPad 2 will be releasing in Q1 2011.  I wouldn't buy one now.

It makes Pachters prediction of 20M by the end of 2011 a lot more plausable. Anyway I personally don't care how well Kinect sells vs iPads and iPhones and Wii Fit peripherals so much. What I care about is how well Kinect sells against 50M and rising consoles and what its overall attach rate will be.

By the end of 2010 it'll probably have around a 10% attach rate. Where will it be at the end of the MS financial year?

Tease.

Well done, Kinect. Good sales, and I enjoy it so far. I invested $150, so MS I want you to invest in some great games for it.

No Gears of War Party Fitness 8 please. Halo Party Fitness 9 will do though.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Just as I expected. Kinect is selling through the roof. It just shows that gamers were waiting for the next big thing. I mean the seventh generation of console gaming has needed something like this. Since a new console is not on the way this is the closest thing.

Like others have mentioned, the assuring sales should encourage software developers to make better games with larger budgets. Give it a year when the great titles start coming out. That's when Kinect will become really huge.

VERY impressive, Kinect is fastest selling product in electronics history ... yet some people still try and make it sound negative xD I guess it means it's working if it has them fearful of it.

The iPhone 4 sold 1.5 Million on its first day ...

2.5 Million in 25 days durring the biggest shopping orgy in the year doesn't seem that impressive

I think he means new product

""The adoption rate of the iPad was celebrated as the fastest ever in electronics history. Now, less than a year after the tablet's launch, Microsoft has usurped that distinction with Kinect."

Doesn't really add up, either it is or that quote is a lie.

iPhone is a phone not an electronics device.  quite simple really

Phones are electronic devices though.  Around here when you go to the electronics section phones are right thier with game systems,DVD players, Music players, T.V.s, laptops and so on. You will be the first one ive ever heard call a phone not a electronics device.

Isn't the iPad like $600?

Seeing as companies are notorious for shipped numbers, I'm skeptical to beleive thios. Esspecially as retailers have been saying they have a lot of stock.
