Forums - Sales Discussion - 2010 Biggest busts in sales

3.- Red Steel 2: A good game with the Red Steel attached to it? Yes, it happened, wit a new style, new story, new character and new system. Red Steel 2 was one of the finest games on the Wii this years, unfortunately it’s at 360k in sales.

What happened?: Being the sequel of one of  the most disappointing games didn’t help this title, plus a really bad marketing campaign.

-Personally I think RS2 is one of the most overrated Wii games ever.  It was a gimped game - no online, no multiplayer (which the original had and this game screamed out for), repetitive action, poor design choices and ridiculous load times - all the time.  Personally I like the original better, but where the original sucked (sword fighting), this one shined.  It did do some things right, but being half a great game doesn't justify a full price purchase.  For $20, this is well worth it - go buy it now.

1.- No More Heroes 2: The sequel of one of the most original and fun games didn’t set any good number. With only
240k in sales it’s one of the most depressing cases of a good game selling really bad.

What happened: Ubisoft drop all marketing support for this title, that and the fact that this title is quite niche.

- Don't forget the audience for this type of game on Wii is quite limited, A lot of people were disappointed in the first game (especially it's overworld), it dropped on the same day as Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, and had a direct competitor in the (then) bargain priced Madworld.
