People are too hard on you Seece, maybe it' because you signiture is pure 360.

I think all you wanted to do was show how the 360 has outsold the 360 and PS3 (Both HD consoles), for every week in November. You included both because the 360 had a strong 2008, and the PS3 had a strong 2009, both with fluctuating strong points.

I'm pretty sure the 360 will sell strongly over the Holidays, It's sales have jumped since Kinect, which clearly has appeal to casual gamers (hence not the head strong sales profile CoD has). It could do anything from 2.5-3.5 million, but either way it's 360 peak year, and it may set the benchmark for best selling Nov/Dec for an HD console.

It will be close between the PS3 and 360 this fall, but thats not the topic of the thread.

If hes purely interested in Xbox 360 sales why dont he also compare the 2009 sales prior to Kinect release. Probably because it wasnt outselling anything. You have your answer why people are hard on him.

But he did compare 2010 sales of 360 prior to Kinects release, to 2009 and 2008 sales.

It was actually the chart in that thread that lead him to this observation. Hence the thread asks if people think December sales will follow this trend.

Shouldnt have said Kinect sorry. His graph start as soon as 360 starts outselling PS3 in 2010, thats what I meant.

Shouldnt have said Kinect sorry. His graph start as soon as 360 starts outselling PS3 in 2010, thats what I meant.

Actually he made these charts at the start of September, before the release of Halo, and I've been harassing him to keep them updated. When he first made these charts, 360 had been outselling the PS3 since the release of the Slim in June (this was before the adjustment told us that that PS3 had actually been selling a little better then VGChartz had quoted, and been on par with the 360). He made the charts to compare fall sales between all platforms.

Also with the above chart, did the PS3 not outsell the 360 for the month of October? He only points out Novemeber sales because 360 Novemeber 2010 sales are above 360 2008-2009 and PS3 2008-2010 sales, every single week, and wants to know if the current trend will continue. It's also a rather interesting trend, and "consoles within consoles" normally crash and burn in sales.

The only reason PS3 has noticably higher YTD sales is because it's been outselling the 360 from Jan 2010-June 2010, and that gave it the edge, since June they have been neck and neck.

So he doesn't include every single week of the year, but with adjustments that would be a hard list to keep up. So don't hate him for making a thread which compared all the weeks in fall with each other, especially since Q4 >> all other quarters.

People are hard on him because his sig is pure 360, he should probably make predictions on Sony games too, like GT5 in there.

I for one did not see this as a competitive comparision, but as an informative comparison. The OP is simply trying to show that "hey look, the 2009 PS3 numbers are very similar to the 2010 Xbox 360 numbers.  The 2009 PS3 actually managed to break 1 mil in a week, perhaps, considering that the 2010 xbox 360 is trending slightly above the 2009 PS3s, we will see the xbox 360 break 1 mil in a week (something which it has yet to do)."

Seriously, the chart is very easy to read and understand if you use even a fraction of thought. This is a site called "VGCHARTZ," afterall.

All I know is this is likely to be the biggest December NPD ever for the 360 by a large margin. PS3 to be down a lot.

Seece, do you believe that the 50 million goal is still possible???

I think so but I'm not seece. :(

I've been tracking it on kowenicki's thread. looks like it's going to do it.  Being ahead of kowenicki's  weekly sales point by 92,000 gives a little breathing room for the next couple of weeks or one bad week.

Kowenicki's Tracking thread

DO you think it's possible?

Did that really warrant a new thread? Should have posted this in your old one.

OT: Kinect has helped the 360 quite a bit.

wasnt that want MS wanted ? yeah...

Yup.. It's basically what Microsoft had up their sleeve since the E3. Release XBox 360 Slim at E3 and then Kinect for the holidays to keep the sales momentum going. Not sure what they are going to do for next year. I'm expecting some buyouts to be honest. Microsoft will buy someone big, and I'm not talking Harmonix either. lol!! If they don't buy another developer, they will partner with one for some exclusive titles. I don't know why they don't create their own development studios world wide. That would make so much sense.

VGChartz had an article a few weeks back about MS trying to acquire more FPS brands as third party exclusives, and Sony commenting about it. So your probably right. 2011 may just be a software competition between Sony and MS. Halo Remake, Gears 3, Forza 4, Prey 2 vs. Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, The Last Guardian, and InFamous 2. Even Nintendo is following on the software front with Zelda, and Pikmin 3 announced so far.
