Now it's a service worth using! This is why Netflix is so popular: Unlimited Streaming.

Nevermind, I just tried the service. While the lag is respectable, it felt uncomfortable for every game I played. The video was compressed alot, and there were alot of audio cutting in and out.

Dirt 2 was freakin' unplayable...

Yeah. I even buy all my Steam games at retail. I like having a hardcopy just in case the steam servers blow up.

Flat rate for an all-access pass is definitely the right direction for a cloud based game service.

Now if only OnLive can do something about their catalog. As in add a couple hundred more back catalog games and latest releases as they become available.

Unfortunately for OnLive, like many other PC gamers, until I find myself with a hopelessly outdated PC and I stop buying new VGA cards (and I don't have a current gen console), I'll never have any real use for their service even though it is one of the better values, limited catalog aside.

Just came to post that here. This is what i origianly thought onlive was going to be like when it came out, which is also the model I see taking over for gaming when it matures enough. I agree right now it is a little to laggy and the video feed not quit up to par. But for 9.99 a month it does not seem bad so i may give it a go for a ittle while.

PlayPack Beta Games Available Now!

Tomb Raider: Underworld
Unreal Tournament

Interesting... but it seems it doesn't include all the games, nor is there any guarantee of what future games will be included. So as far as I'm concerned it fails (even ignoring all the other problems with Onlive).

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

I used Onlive for the first time last week to play through Batman: Arkham Asylum. I was impressed overall. My PC won't run the game, and I don't have a 360 or PS3, so this was a good way for me to be able to play it. Unfortunately Arkham Asylum was the only title of the small selection that I wanted to play. But if they ever do expand their catalog significantly I would be very interested in it for 9.99 a month.
