... please don't recommend a plethora of JRPG games to a newcomer. There is a reason for this. JRPG games really don't appeal to people OUTSIDE of Japan (other than a niche few). This is the reason JPRGs don't sell very well in the west, and neither do PS3s.

As an JRPG fan, you owe it  to yourself to play Yakuze 3 Torillian.

I've got Star Ocean on the 360 and really enjoyed it and the PS3 version is meant to be even better. I would say its a try before you buy however as its not for everyone.

I was going to do a trade with Naz for God of War 3 but he pansied out.

@Hexen, I think it's fair to recommend jRPGs to a guy who came in and said he wanted recommendations and only gave us Demon's Souls and Action RPG to go off of.

Valkyria Chronicles and NiER.

I have a psp with this game and valkyria chronicles. And  yes, Ys Seven is very good.

Good choice.  I would also recommend Elders Scroll: IV Oblivion.

I quite enjoyed white knight chronicles. Although it's pretty much the opposite of demon's soul, the main story is way too easy. Luckily the extra missions offer plenty of challenge with large open areas to explore. I don't know if anyone is still playing it online, the tier 3 missions are pretty much impossible solo.

Thank to all of you. I really like all rpg subgenres but lately I enjoy more games like Demon's Soul or Dragon's Age (PC). So Oblivion is interesant and cheap.

Is Mass effect 2 similar to an action rpg or more like to a shooter (i don´t like shooters)?

Demon's Souls is hands down the best RPG for PS3.  I don't think anyone has mentioned Disgaea 3 or Folklore either
