Forums - Nintendo - Speculation: Could Dragon Quest X info be coming this month?

Two years since the announcement and the haven't shown even one pic. First Final Fantasy XIII, the Final Fantasy XIIIvs, then Kingdom Hearts 3 and now Dragon Quest X too. SquareEnix is a total disaster scheduling its titles launching, always with tons of year from announcement to launching and so few info about the game, only: 'tomorrow there is gonna be an annoucement of an announcement ...' That's the way they create hype, just pathetic! Apart from that, their games have been some kinf od disappointing lately so I consider it's about time the think about retirement...

(YES, I am fed up with S-E).

To be honest, I'm actually more worried about DQVI DS making it overseas at this point.  And same for DQMBRV and DQMJ2, I wonder if Nintendo will pick those up?

Either Nintendo or Square-Enix would be stupid to pass up on DQVI or Joker 2, the sales of DQ IX is the west and in particular PAL areas have shown the market for DQ has grown since their predecessors (DQV and Joker) were launched.  It will also strengthen the DQ brand name in preparation for X on the Wii.

I''m also really surprised Square-Enix haven't announced a DQ remake for the Wii yet, the PSX, PS2 and DS had them before a new installment hit the console and thought the same would be for the Wii.  While a DQVII remake would be the next logical step, I wouldn't be surprised if they take the easier option of just porting DQVIII.

Agreed.  Though I'm more worried they'll just take the even easier option, and just release DQI-VI on Virtual Console with no actual ports/remakes. :/

DQVII Wii MUST happen.  It would be the first DQ remake with a chance of selling 2m in Japan imo.  Plus it's not like Arte Piazza's doing much at the moment, just random DSiWare games, and they already have that nice Wii engine in place from Opoona.
