Move Sells Over 4.1 Million Units

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that PlayStation Move has reached over 4.1 million units sold worldwide.

Reaching the milestone in just 2 months since its release in September (and only a month in Japan), Sony say that “the number not only shows clear success of the launch of the new motion sensing controller but also indicates positive momentum going in to the holiday season and to the year 2011.”

This number is a cumulative number since its release date until November 2010, which does not include sales of stand-alone PlayStation Eye cameras or stand-alone PlayStation Move navigation controllers. That certainly puts those figures into perspective then.

This news comes after Microsoft announced that Kinect has sold over 2.5 million units yesterday.

What does this mean?  Does this mean they sold 4.1M Starter kits?  Is this a shipped (like the 2.5M they announced previously) or sold through?



Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
